Maddy Hicks released “Roster” in May of 2023 with Overall Recordings.

Maddy wrote this song in late March of 2023. The song was produced by Daniel Weber and mixed by Pedro Calloni.

“Usually when I catch feelings for someone, I’m all in on that person. But then eventually it turns out that they’re not all in on me. I recently tried changing my approach and started talking to multiple people at once, joking that I was ‘building my roster.’ Somehow that ended up hurting me way worse, and I was still alone in the end. I sat down one night & churned out this song I call Roster. It’s about losing faith in love, getting my heart broken over and over, and wondering if I’m the problem. I was shocked to see how many people connected with this song when I posted part of it online. It feels so specific, but somehow we’ve all felt this way.”
