Maddy Hicks released “Deadline” in January of 2023 with Overall Recordings.

Maddy wrote this song in June of 2022 with cowriters with Andrew Tufano & Jack Newsome. The song was produced by Andrew Tufano and mixed by Pedro Calloni.

“I was telling my co-writers Andrew Tufano and Jack Newsome about this guy I had known for almost a year and didn’t get together with until right before he moved away. As I was talking about it, I realized that a lot of my past relationships have ended because of something outside of my control - going off to college, their ex coming back into the picture… there was always a clock ticking in the background until our time was up. This guy in particular felt so clearly like the right person at the wrong time, and I wanted to write about my frustration with how this always seemed to happen.”
